Marshall School Early Head Start Child Care
in collaboration with the
Harrisburg School District Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program
Marshall School’s Early Head Start early care and
education center provides care for HSD high school students’ children
ages six weeks to 36 months. The curriculum and program philosophy is
to create developmentally appropriate experiences and interactions that
foster your child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth.
Through hands on learning and exploratory play, your child will learn
how to solve problems, socialize with others and develop independence
and self-confidence. Our teachers are caring individuals who are
trained in early child development and will share the growth and
progress of your child’s development through scheduled visits and/or
daily communication. EHS works collaboratively with the staff of the
Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program to support the students with:
• Parenting education
• Attendance, family support issues, school and community advocacy
• Referral process to EHS and childcare funding
Marshall Early Head Start meets state certification requirements set
by the PA Department of Public Welfare and federal Head Start
regulations. We are designated a STAR level 3 program by the Keystone
STARS quality initiative program. This signifies that we actually
exceed state health and safety regulations, based on staff education,
the learning environment and the administration of the program. This
rating serves as a means for you to recognize the high quality of
programming here at Marshall EHS.
